Serratus Pepper Mill
The spectacular Serratus Pepper Mill is both a beautiful object and a thoughtfully designed kitchen essential. Brothers Shawn and James Kay of Tantalus Design created these virtually indestructible mills which are crafted in their studio workshop in North Vancouver. Meticulous woodworking brings out the beauty of the wood. The base and the top knob, which begin production as a single solid block of wood, are crafted separately and reassembled to form the grain-matched body of the mill. While it appears to be a single continuous piece of wood, a simple twist of the top grinds your pepper. Under its delicate appearance is a solid stainless steel shaft, ensuring a sturdiness that will allow these mills to last a lifetime. The high-quality Danish ceramic grinding mechanism is also compatible with rock salt, wet salt, and may be used for dry herbs and spices. Fill your the mill from the bottom using the built-in funnel, then adjust to your preferred coarseness.
